A report by Los Angeles Police detectives leaked Thursday claims Chris Brown tried to push girlfriend Rihanna out of a car on the night of their alleged fight, and that he repeatedly punched and choked her at one point threatened to kill her.
Brown on Thursday was charged with felony counts of assault and making a criminal threat. He made an appearance with his attorney Mark Geragos in Superior Court in Los Angeles Thursday, but did not enter a plea to either count. The case was instead delayed to April 6.
A court commissioner ordered him not to harass, threaten or harm anyone. But at the request of an attorney representing Rihanna, the commissioner did not order Brown to stay away from Rihanna. The two reportedly reconciled last weekend.
On Thursday, Brown, wearing a three-piece gray pinstripe suit with gray tie and cream shirt, clasped his hands behind his back as he walked into the courtroom. He answered a few questions from the commissioner as his mother watched from the front row along with a group of family members.
According to a Los Angeles Police detective's notes, obtained by Fox 11's TV news team in Los Angeles, and later posted on celebrity Web sites TMZ.com and Usmagazine.com, the altercation began in the early hours of Feb. 8, the day of the Grammys, after Rihanna read a three-page text message on Brown's phone.
After she became angry, Brown tried to force Rihanna out of the car, but couldn't because she was wearing a seat-belt, the detective's notes said.
Brown allegedly shoved Rihanna's head against the passenger window. After she turned to face him, Brown punched her, and continued punching her while driving, the report says. The blows caused Rihanna to bleed onto her dress and the interior the rented Lamborghini Brown was driving.
According to the report, Brown told Rihanna: "I'm going to beat the (expletive) out of you when we get home. You wait and see."
Rihanna then left a message for her assistant that said, "I am on my way home. Make sure the cops are there when I get there."
According to the report, this made Brown furious. "You just did the stupidest thing ever. I'm going to kill you," he told her.
According to the report, Brown continued to punch Rihanna, bit her ear and fingers and put her in a headlock, causing her to nearly lose consciousness.
