well...I was right about one thing and terribly wrong about another...first off news leaks of Sammy Sosa testing positive for steroids in 2003
...BIG SHOCKER!!!...I stated my opinion about this a few weeks ago and also laughed at his defiant tone...apparently said tone pissed someone with inside info off and they decided to shat on his parade...like I said before...good luck with that HOF bid...you'll need it sir



I also recently stated my opinion on the Donte Stallworth case. I assumed...like everyone else...that a man who was driving with a blood alcohol level well over the limit and struck and killed someone with his vehicle was screwed...boy was I wrong bitch...dude gets 30 days in jail and something like 10 years of probation...I mean don't get me wrong...I would by no means want either of those things...but the fact that you can kill someone in a DUI accident and get away without doing significant jail time is astounding to me...the only thing I can gather from this is that it pays to have great legal representation...hooray justice!

Brad Lidge is not having a season to remember...I was sent this image earlier today and mere minutes after I first clicked the link to it he gave up a game tying homer to Rafael Furcal in this afternoon's game...the man was perfect in save opps last year and is far from that this year...the only thing I can point to is he either a) sold his soul for his season last year b) is having problems with his surgically repaired knee...either way...this pic is hilarious

Sammy Sosa retires....

Former Chicago Cubs outfielder Sammy Sosa said Wednesday that he will soon announce his formal retirement from baseball and that he will not allow his legacy to be stained by steroid-use accusations.

"Everything I achieved, I did it thanks to my perseverance, which is why I never had any long, difficult moments [as a baseball player]. If you have a bad day in baseball, and start thinking about it, you will have ten more," said Sosa.

"I will calmly wait for my induction to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Don't I have the numbers to be inducted?," said Sosa, who presently serves the Dominican government as Special Ambassador For Investment Opportunities.

Sosa had a total of 609 home runs in his career, including seasons of 66 homers in 1998, 63 in 1999 and 64 in 2001. He last played for the Rangers in 2007, a season he called his most fulfilling, hitting 21 round trippers and batting in 92 runs in only 114 games.

I was always more of a Sammy Sosa than a Mark Mcgwire fan...I used to watch his games every afternoon on WGN as a young buck and remember his funny haircuts and amusing dugout rituals...he was a complete player at the time...running the bases...making great catches in the outfield and hitting a lot (for the time) of home runs...of course this all changed during the summer of 1998 when out of fucking nowhere he hit 66 home runs...Sammy Sosa is one of the most blatant steroid users in baseball history and I think he has some large testicles (or not) to be coming out saying this shit right now...this dude hit over 60 homers 3 times in his career...3 times!...thats insane...this however may also be the biggest indictment on the state of baseball during his heyday...he never lead the league in any of those years...yes...he hit over 60 homers 3 times and never...led...the...league...with all that said I didn't stop liking the guy simply because he liked to stick needles in his ass...Sammy Sosa got exposed as being a phony after he hit it big...there were stories about him refusing to attend charity events unless they catered to his demands for private planes and shit...there was the time in his last season with the cubs where he pretended to be hurt so he wasn't playing the last game of the season...and was told he had to be on the bench but he left the stadium early...lied about it...and was caught on tape and fined his game check...then the biggest fail came when he appeared before congress and pretended to not be able to speak english when asked about steroids...the same guy that did commercials for pepsi and countless interviews with ESPN etc pretended he couldn't speak english...that was the last straw for me when it came to Sammy...good luck with your hopes of getting into the hall of fame sir...you're going to need it
